On Saturday, 31st January, a delegation including our Treasurer, Director of Ceremonies, and myself, had the pleasure of traveling to Ramsgate to visit the Old Ruymians Lodge.
It was an evening of significant milestones. We first witnessed a member receiving their Grand Lodge Certificate, followed by the presentation of a 'Solomon' Certificate to the Worshipful Master. However, the highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the presentation of a 50-year certificate to V.W. Bro. Roger Odd.
A Pillar of the Federation V.W. Bro. Roger has been a stalwart of the Federation of School Lodges (FSL) since the 1980s. His dedication is well known, having previously served as a member of the FSL Management Committee and remaining a loyal supporter of Festivals for over four decades.
On a personal note, it was Roger’s influence and encouragement that led to my own appointment as the Federation Representative for Kent and Sussex.
We were also delighted that W.Bro. John Hubbard made the journey to personally congratulate Roger on behalf of the Federation President. It was a memorable evening celebrating a brother who has dedicated half a century to the Craft.
