Festival 2026
The Old Kimboltonians Lodge recently had the honour of hosting the first-ever Federation of School Lodges (FSL) Shooting Day, setting a high standard for what is sure to become a cherished tradition.
The event brought together 36 guns for a fantastic day of marksmanship and Masonic camaraderie. Participants were challenged with a total of 100 clays, split perfectly into two sessions: 50 targets before a well-earned lunch, and the remaining 50 tackled in the afternoon.
Friendly Rivalry on the Stands
In total, seven lodges took part in the inaugural competition. While the spirit of fellowship was the true winner of the day, Cholmeley Lodge No 1732 emerged victorious to claim the title of the winning lodge.
Once the shotguns were packed away and the scores were tallied, the day was nicely rounded off in traditional fashion with a few well-deserved beers and shared stories in the clubhouse.
Growing the Craft
The success of the event extended beyond the clay stands. RWBro Mark Constant, President of the FSL, praised the occasion, remarking on what a thoroughly enjoyable day was had by everyone in attendance. Perhaps the most fantastic news of the day was the impact the welcoming atmosphere had on two visiting guests, both of whom are now prospective candidates for initiation.
